Office Of Student Engagement
Joining clubs and making time for extracurricular activities allows you to meet a diverse group of people that allow you to expand your thinking and interests. Getting involved with these things gives you the opportunity to work on your own personal development by getting to have meaningful specialized out of class experiences. Also networking within different groups of people is key to success and comfort on campus. The more people you know the better. Having a different perspective to help with and discuss the school/emotional issues that you will face in your freshman year makes life easier. You will feel a lot more alone if you don’t establish and cultivate those relationships. It’s important to feel like that you have people that you can reach out to and trust.
